Spoken Ancient Greek Summer School 2024

Join us for an immersive experience in the heart of Greece, as we delve into the world of Greek mythology through spoken Ancient Greek. Led by experienced instructors Jenni Glaser and Rogelio Toledo, this summer school offers a unique opportunity to explore Greek myths and their explanations in their original language.

Schedule

5 days of total immersion
3 hours of class every day (1.5 hours in the morning, 1.5 hours in the evening)
Engage in reading and discussions of Greek myths along with various ancient and medieval interpretation

Field Trips: Explore the rich history and culture of Greece with two exciting field trips included in the summer school itinerary

Mycenae Archeological Site: Journey to the ancient city of Mycenae, renowned for its impressive archeological remains, including the iconic Lion Gate and the Tomb of Agamemnon.
Epidaurus Archeological Site and Greek Drama Performance: Visit the ancient theater of Epidaurus, a UNESCO World Heritage site famed for its remarkable acoustics and well-preserved structure. Immerse yourself in Greek drama as we watch a captivating performance in this historic setting.

Accommodation Packages: tuition includes housing, teaching hours, breakfast, museum/theater tickets, and transportation to sites.
